He studied sculpture at the Akademie der Künste Berlin in 1946 and in 1948, aerodynamics at the Sorbonne in Paris. Colani is certainly one of the most famous designers of our time.

Kai Kristiansen studied at Det Danske Kongelige Kunstakaemi in Copenhagen where he finished his apprenticeship in 1948. In 1955 he opened his own studio and began creating models for manufacturers as well known as Fritz Hansen, Kjærsgaard or Tarm og Feldballe. His design is characterized by clean lines and the extensive use of teak and rosewood. His best-known creations are the chair #42 and his wall units.
