Set of Six Result Industrial Diner Chairs by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, 1960s

Set of Six Result Industrial Diner Chairs by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, 1960s - Friso Kramer - Ahrend de Cirkel

About

Highly wanted industrial Result chairs designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel. Designed in the 1950s and manufactured in 1969. The set of six chairs are marked and stamped on the beautiful plywood and the stylish folded steel grey bases. In original and excellent condition, including all the rubbers between plywood and steel.

The Result chair was a collaboration between Wim Rietveld who had just switched from Gispen to work at their competitor Ahrend. Friso Kramer invited Wim Rietveld to come work at Ahrend de Cirkel. The influences of both Kramer and Rietveld are strongly visible in this chair that was originally designed as a school chair to compete with the tubular chairs from that time. The frames are not made of tubular constuction, as in most similar designs of this period, but folded sheet metal, ending in rubber feet. Very solid, and a revolutionary design. Fantastic, comfortable and functional set of chairs
