Six Tulip dining chairs by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International
Six Tulip chairs from the Pedestal Group, designed in 1955 by Eero Saarinen, manufactured by Knoll International. The chairs are among the greatest classics of furniture design and are exhibited in numerous museums. Charlotte and Peter Fiell write in their book "1000 Chairs": "The 'Pedestal Group' did, however, fulfil his (Saarinen's) objective of cleaning up the 'slum of legs' in domestic interiors".
The chairs consist of a cast aluminium base, a fibreglass shell and a seat cushion made of foam and upholstery fabric. Two are rotatable. Their condition is good, with some patina and light signs of wear.
Dimensions: width 51 cm, depth 54 cm, height 81 cm, seat height 47 cm
