Ribbon Chair (F582) easy chair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, 1965
A completely restored and re-upholstered original Ribbon chair by Pierre Paulin. Paulin designed the Ribbon chair, F582, for Artifort in 1965. Metal frame with horizontal springs, covered with foam and stretch fabric on a lacquered wooden pedestal. A beautiful example of applied art. One of the most comfortable chairs to sit in allowing the user to assume a variety of positions. Featured in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, and the MoMa, Museum of Modern Art, in New York. This Ribbon chair is upholstered in a purple Kvadrat Tonus fabric and the pedestal is refinished in white lacquer. The chair is as new.
