A pair of modernist Polaris Chairs by Pierre Guariche for Meurop
Two 'Polaris' swivel chairs, designed in 1965 by Pierre Guariche, manufactured in Belgium by Meurop. The chairs are part of a series left behind the traditional shape of seating furniture in order to create something completely new. Today this series is considered as Guariche's contribution to the Space Age Design of that period, easily recognizable by the product names: Polaris, Luna, Jupiter and Mars.
The chairs consist of wood, metal, and upholstery fabric. They are in good original condition, with some light patina.
