'One' bicycle

Thomas Owens is a young British product design graduate.
His latest project is a stylish bicycle that not only offers all the benefits of cycling but, with its power system, the user can cruise around with ease.

When folded, 'One' turns into an amazing compact case free of all dirty and protruding parts. It can be easily carried, stowed and stored.

Wow, that is really cool looking, what an excellent design! I just wonder aboutthe comfort of the seat for all but the slimmest of bottoms.

I'd really like to see the brief that he was using. There are lots of interesting concept bikes, very few get through to production. What is there here that can be moved on to manufacture?

Whenever I see one of these clever-idea folding bikes, I say to myself, "Clever idea, perhaps someday someone will apply this to a real, adult sized bike." When wheels are 12" diameter, one might just as well walk!

Hard to find something to like as so few of the design problems of the bicycle have actually been tackled here. No brakes, inefficient drive, no torsional rigidity, huge castor angle (dangerously so), tiny wheels, solid tyres (looks like). Mmm have you actually ridden a bike?

The design is fantastic, but where is the chain? How is power transferred from pedal to wheel? How about steering? Braking? Nice, but incomplete.

The 'Do not touch' sign says it all. This is an artwork, not a bike. Quintessential British design: pretty, expensive, and useless.

Nice bike. Wonder what it would cost if manufactured.

It's a joke, son. It's not meant to be ridden, let alone manufactured. The designer is ENGLISH. Enough said.
