If you're like most of us and live in a real home with kids, pets, etc, wouldn't you rather enhoy the furniture and not worry about whether or not the cats scratched your $5000 chair? Or if you've got money to burn....go ahead. The leather on these are nice...not to stiff (which seams a bit cheap to me sometimes) and not too mushy or soft which seems like it wouldn't wear well.
