But I still say the Barcelonas there are very overpriced... that particular chair and also the Wassily, are in my opinion, some of the easiest chairs to replicate well. You need good materials, solid construction, fairly accurate dimensions, and you're good to go... I've never understood the $800 dollar Room and Board Wassily- the chair is steel tubes and saddle leather! There are literally hundreds of knock-offs of identical quality for 250 bucks. And there are tons of Barcelona replicas featuring high-grade solid polished steel frames and quality-foam, well-stitched, fine leather cushions... for six to eight hundred bucks. I'm not saying that there aren't loads of cheap monstrosities out there, because there are, but the good ones aren't so hard to find as to force people to pay into the thousands for something that at the end of the day is still a knockoff. As for resale, I think about that before any big purchase. I'm in my twenties and single now. What if I get married, move into a bigger place and go in another design direction? Do I want to take a bath on something I could have had for a third of the price? Figuring in investment retainment is just smart shopping.
