	title of this thread your message I'm a huge fan of Emeco. I know there were a bunch of people doing aluminum/steel furniture but to my knowledge (and happily corrected if I'm wrong) Emeco is the only company that heat treats the aluminum - thus making it virtually indestructible. I've got one of the classic Navy chairs - found it for a steal on craigslist :-D Also - I kind of like the way that Emeco is angling themselves into the design arena - altho some of the Starck designs are just blah. I love love love the Fosters + Partners chair they did in 2006. SO pretty and sleek!
