I would see if you can have the hand repaired (by someone who knows what they are doing) and not replaced (I'm not sure if Vitra ever reissued this hand regardless) My vote is to always keep these clocks in as original condition as possible. As this clock is a very rare version, I wouldn't replace the movement, the hands or anything else. Others might advocate a different approach.
