Mystery Chairs! ID!
Hello!

Any notion about the designer, and what do you reckon is a fair price?

These chairs seem Gunlocke Risom like. I believe them to be American. The bottoms of the legs look grey. They look like they were in a moist basement. They have a cool look. I would be in the $300-$450 range on look alone, but if the feet are punky I would bow out.

I spoke with the owner on the phone and have made an appointment to take a look tomorrow. He says they are in fact by Risom. Am a little dubious. Any way to determine? He says the chairs were lately reupholstered and is asking $1,200.

According to the ad on craigslist for these chairs, the seller claims that a couple still retain Risom labels on the undersides. If thats the case then there is probably not too much doubt that they are infact Risom chairs.

Oh! Thank you! I did not see the Craigslist ad! Was contacted by a friend from the local antique coop! Is 1,200 a fair price?
