Shell chair feedback for a newbie
Someone wants to sell me this shell chair for $250. His pics aren't that great and he says it's "dirty and could use a cleaning." Wonder if anyone has any feeback about this particular one. Especially the fabric -- I haven't seen anything like it browsing around.
He claims the two triangles are from Summit which produced the chair for Herman Miller.
Many thanks for any feedback!!

real
it is real . it is a herman miller production chair with a detatchable cover. they usually used seconds or damaged chairs in this regard. they would pick the bad ones and paint the backs and cover them instead of tossing them as foberglass is impossible to reuse.
the cover is great and i would be into purchasing it if you do not yourself or if you want the chair and want to sell the cover by itself please feel free to contact me.

tynellbuyer, you seem to know your shell chairs! I have looked a bit and believe this is HM (someone on the Acquisitions thread confirmed it) but am wondering when it was produced? It has almost no markings, just a tiny Z and a ink stamp that looks like "Z COMM 2". Ring a bell?
there are no indications of it being anything but Herman Miller.
with side chairs it really makes no difference what age they are value-wise as they were never offered in a rope edge such as the armchairs.
there are some first year chairs that have a great little red rectangular sticker that some would pay more for and are a little more collectable but otherwise age means nothing really..
thank you tons
I felt left out, never having found one of these, and was a bit confused once I did. I really admire this chair and wish I had a place for it. My current office chair is a very old 1930's UGLY office chair that just happens to fit me perfectly (from a comfort perspective that is). I really appreciate your input.

no problem.... another clear indication is the grease pencil under the seat on the chair.. it looks like it os written PSC which is the designation for Pivot Sideshell Cast aluminum base, and elephant which is the colour (elephant hide grey)
