Alvar Aalto manufactures mark question
Hi Guys
I've bought a model 70 table with "Aalto design made in finland"
stamped, who is the manufacturer and where can I get timelines for manufacture dates?

It was very easy to find
the information your looking for..i just ticked in Alvar Aalto table and this popped up, complete with a photo of your table..

This 1933 design is typically and unmistakably Aalto, with those distinctive Aalto 'L' legs and circular surface in birch, as well as a 'floating' shelf for your books and magazines

the more I look, the more I'm in the dark!
After trawling through all my design books, turned to my Miller's 2010-2011, on page 596 there is a chair by Aalto model 31 with same stamp as my table, but has the Finmar ltd tag
It says it's manufactured by "OY.ﾠ HUONEKALUJAﾠ RAKENNUSTYOTEHDASﾠ AB"
One of my scandinavian design books says finmar is a subsidiary of Artek ?
Anyone know the connection between Artek / finmar / OY.ﾠ HUONEKALUJAﾠ RAKENNUSTYOTEHDASﾠ AB,ﾠ TURKU,ﾠ FINLAND?

Artek and huonekalu- ja rakennustehdas
You asked about the connection of Oy Huonekalu- ja rakennustyötehdas AB and Artek.
Oy Huonekalu- ja Rakennustyötehdas AB (later Huonekalutehdas Korhonen) is the factory that produced (and still does) Aalto furniture in Turku, Finland. A subcontractor for Artek.
Artek was founded to promote and sell Alvar and Aino Aalto designed products. They don't have any production of their own, but everything is outsourced.
Finmar was the English importer for Aalto furniture.
