Sinbad Chair by Cassina
I'd like to buy one in good condition ever since I saw one in the 80's in a store window in Rome. Never sat in one. Have you any leads as to how I might find either a chair or a loveseat version? Are they as comfortable as I imagine?

I seem to recall its not now and was was in very limited production?It was a great design 1981 or so, very NOT like much of the 80s design... atypical.
You are right about the age....
You are right about the age. Designed in '81 by Vico Magistretti and produced thru late 90's. It was made in four versions -- a high-back chair and loveseat, a low-backed sofa, and an ottoman, each with removeable covers, usually a great wool with contrasting edge band. They were also available with leather covers and cotton for summer!
The covers are loose, held in place by two hooks hidden in the rear of the seat. Sort of a freaky looking thing.
