westnofa chairs
I also have a bent wood chair that I aquired at a garage sale about 5 years ago, along with an ottoman. Unfortunately, one of the front legs is broken. I have done a lot of searching, but I don't think its possible to find replacement parts for these chairs. I have resorted to looking for other chairs for sale so that I can rebuild mine.
I have a friend in the furniture sales industry who is going to look into it. if I find any source for replacement parts, I will post it.

Westnofa History
Westnofa wasn't an actual furniture company. Created in the 50's it was an export company for several manufacturers, including Stokke, etc to keep up with the international market, since Norway was kind of in a black hold in regards to the furniture market at that point in time. The companies that exist today that call themselves Westnofa, there is one in Canada that makes health and industrial furniture and the one left in Norway, that makes plastic products for Stokke still, have nothing really to do with the original Export company. It is almost impossible to figure out(at least so far for myself) to find out who the original designers of the miscellaneous Westnofa furniture are, and when I say miscellaneous I mean the pieces other than their famous "chair and matching ottoman" which are found easily. For example I have a dining room set with Westnofa tag that is black, art deco style with a floating glass top, bent wood chairs with hairpin legs. An amazing piece and obviously designed by a great, whether it be Opsvik, or another I don't know. I've been trying and researching for months trying to learn about it, but to no avail....But I keep researching...

Westnofa Furniture
Did you ever find information on the Westnofa Furniture company in Norway (Vestlandske)? I have a chair designed by Svein Asbjornsen and distributed by Westnofa and I need current value on it for resale. Any info would be helpful.

Westnofa Leather chair and ottoman
I have been trying to find a description and picture of the famous high back leather chair and ottoman with the Westnofa name. It was famous in the 50, 60, 70's.
Is here any company making them today?
Thanks for any help.

Hi, do you mean the SIESTA...
Hi, do you mean the SIESTA chair by Ingmar Relling? He designed a number of modern classics which has been very popular in Scandinavia, specially this armchair Siesta. The laminated beech wood construction of Siesta-providing strength and superior comfort- was a technical revolution. A low-back or high-back version, with or without arm support are available. The arm support, which can be added, is designed to fit the laminated forms of the base, without disturbing the smooth feathering of the chair.
You'll find several different models of this chair on:

good luck!!

Westnofa Chairs
Back in the 1980's Westnofa was a distributer for Stokke, which manufactured these wood chairs designed by Peter Opsvik. If you go to opsvik.no you can see all of his creations including a timeline. He must have licensed these to Varier Furniture now. You can go to varierfurniture.com and see the collection. The most memerable chairs that come to my mind are the Balans Multi, Variable and Gravity. The variable use to sell new for about $200 in 1985. I hope this helps you track down what you are looking for.

Westnofa now
As has been mentioned, anyone looking for information on Westnofa parts or products can check with Varier Furniture
www.varierusa.com or www.varierfurniture.com as well as Rybo. I can only speak about Varier, which is alive and well and is the successor to Stokke, manufacturer of many of the chairs that were brought in under the umbrella of Westnofa / Westnova.
Many of the original designs are still being made as well as parts.

Westnofa 2011
Actually I just tried contacting Varier Furniture and they told me that they are sorry to say that they are not affiliated with Westnofa / Siesta. The Varier line was imported by Westnofa years ago, but it is a different company. Just go to RYBO's website and contact them there.
