Georges Briard
Quite a prolific designer? design house? Strictly domestic objects?
I randomly have run ins with these objects, all glass so far, and continually intrigued. Have no clue about the history and hopefully someone reading does.

Mondrian
Thank you Azure! I mainly curious about who/what Georges Briar was. If the book indicates about Mondrian short glasses, I'd be interested in knowing. I have a set of 4, always wondered if they were licensed or creative infringement.
Can post a pic if needed or just wanted.

I really enjoy Briard items
Always on the prowl for Briard pieces, but they are so hard to find in great shape! Mostly scuffed, scratched and so on. The one piece I have on display in my apartment is a serving dish that a person (who knows much more than me!) told me was possibly from his "Midas" line. (It was a steal at $2.99)
Thanks for the information on that book! I have been hoping there was a good reference book on Braird items out there! (Bonus for the Brastoff section as well!)

what do you think
of this G. Briard piece. It appears to be an early work that is hand painted and signed. This is a metal wall hanging plate, 14" Dia.

I cannot locate that one but the book has 225 pages 115 on BRIARD alone chock full of pics & info.In 1985 he did a "MEMPHASIS"line in (honor) of MEMPHIS I guess...One note: his father sent him to Chicago USA in 1937 ,he had a 3.000 allowance a month!

Thanks Azure... Now you...
Thanks Azure... Now you leave me with more questions!
So he went to Chicago... Is this where he later based his Georges Briard branded business?
Setag...I think its a whimsical piece. I don't quite "get it", but notice the King has two chalices? Needs prodding?
