Flos "taccia" light.....a dilema
i've been looking to replace a floor mounted Tom Dixon mirror ball light (beware they dont last long) with something else...
A local furniture shop who used to have a Flos account still have a "Taccia" light in stock, the over the course of a couple years of repeated interest i've got the guy down to £450 from the asking price of £950 (he knows he will never be able to sell it from that site for top price)
but i'm wondering if i can really use it as a floor light?
obivously there is the issue of the glass bowl becoming broken being at floor level but it is out of the way, also worried i might not get much light coming off upwards either...
anyone out there using one like this???

depends on your needs......
i got my black taccia as a gift from my mom, who purchased it for $100. us
at a local consignment shop many years ago.
it's a lovely table lamp with limitations. the glass globe moves loosely on the base, so it's easy to bump and crash especialy on the floor.
when useing a higher watt bulb the metal cylinder gets super hot, so i use a low wattage bulb for fear of disaster.
light is low and diffused which limits it's practical use.
it makes a powerful sculptural statement with dim moody light.
