furniture elastic strapping
Is the pirelli webbing still the best or are there other alternatives. I have a sofa and chair to redo and wonder if there is something that lasts longest without failing.

The lifespan of pirelli is around 40years depending on the heat it is exposed to.
I have found other elasticated webbing works OK but does not have the tension of pirrelli while being flexible.
The critical issue with pirelli is the taughtness it is pulled to before fitting to the frame.
There is hemp webbing but then the construction of the seat over it is different and it is not elasticated so must be fitted loose and built up with foam padding.
The MODUS chairs by solmer-vedel have a plastic covered mesh but agin this is not flexible when attached.
