Wall unit...I was not aware that it was a CSS unit the CSS vs Cado Debate
With age comes knowledge. I have come along way from the early kitsch of collecting, yet, I am unable to identify this wall unit. We have three bays but only could put up two. Any ideas?
History: These wonderful folks in San Diego blessed me with this. They mentioned that at one time it cost a few thousand dollars. The monetary statement is issued to help with identifying the unit, in that, valuations could lead to the market in which it came from.
Be at peace

DUH.................is this a trick?
Herman Miller george nelson wall mounted CSS.
the cases are reverse mounted from the more popular pole version.
I'd be interested in purchasing your unwanted pieces from that set.
thanks

Thank you
I have always assumed that it was. Sometime ago when we were installing this we dropped one of the smaller units and noticed that the metal hooks were able to be reversed. I now know why that is so.

CSS unit
Now that I know that this is in fact a css unit I did some research. There are so many versions and different ways of conversion. Were these custom ordered by people and was there some sort of catalog? Secondly, I would like a owners manual if possible and any related advice on where to find more of the wall post to add the last section in a different place of our home. The desk piece would be nice as well. Are all the components interchangeable with other versions?

Do you just tap the metal slides out to reverse them and what do you use?

Catalog, manual, etc.
Yes, there was a catalog, with a large number of options. They don't show up on Ebay very often, but one just sold for $100 (link below).
Barrympls sells copies of the manual for -- I think -- $50.
Shelves and cabinets came in two widths, but aside from that are all interchangeable.
Best place for CSS pieces is probably Ebay, but remember that there were many variations, so make sure that a piece matches your existing units before bidding on it.

Wow: The CSS vs CADO
This had a lot of options: what is the consensus opinion on the comparisons and lack thereof between the two units. Is the CSS to cold? I think thatboth are great. World view engage......................

Don't you Dare!
i have both pole and wall track CSS.
although the aluminum side brackets may come loose they should not be tapped to change their placement. They will probably break, aluminum easily fractures.
Your shelves can be used in both formats but your closed cases can only be used with wall tracks. I have one open front and back case that interchanges.
i have extra CSS poles and lamps for trade for other CSS if interested.
