Christian Pound founded the Ecso Group in 2004. This marked a departure from the scope of his previous work (in photography and graphic design) into the creation of objects, particularly fashion accessories. Marketed under the label Ecsotype®, and taking a "from the ground up" approach, each new design stresses unconventional construction techniques. Christian believes that the foundations of design are liquid. He relishes the journey of shaping his ideas into tangible forms.

'Book' is a small leather bag - its proportions roughly the size of an A4 sheet of paper. A central satchel is nestled in a harness, two handles provide different carrying options (over the shoulder or across the body). The bag is available in four different colours - all components are configurable individually, leaving room for hundreds of colour combinations.

'School' is an unconventional leather duffle, bisected horizontally in its middle by a zip. Webbing straps are fitted around the body of the bag (thus allowing for different colour combinations) and provide attachment points for the handle, a marine rope spliced at a yacht chandlery. Three carrying options complete the versatility of this design.

Designed over the course of 18 months, 'Type A' is a complex and ambitious project that embodies Christian and Sabine's aversion to compromise.
A messenger bag that zips together at the seams, it can be carried both horizontally and vertically. All components can be configured individually, offering numerous colour variations.
