Asti studied architecture at the Milan Politecnico in 1953 and was one of the founders of the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (1956). He designed products for Mebel, Bilumen, Kartell (ashtrays), Candle (lamps), Lauffer (cutlery), Salviati (glassware), Knoll (vases), Brionvega (television), Corning (pyrex cookware), Heller (ice bucket)...
His forms are unusual and conceived for the pleasure of their abstract beauty.
