In 1968, German industrial designer Peter Raacke (also known or his cutlery classic mono-a) designed a furniture series in cardboard. This series "Sitze für Besitzlose" was the first industrial production in this everyday material ever. The original range includes different seating objects, storage units and tables. The surprise was the robustness of this material. Based on this experiment, later cardboard furniture became more and more popular.
Now Markanto presents in cooperation with the manufacturer Pulpo a special edition of the classic 'Otto' chair in painted cardboard. The edition is in only 20 pieces, each one painted in cranberry-red and marked with a metal-plaque from 1 to 20.
