Master of Arts in Ceramic and Glass, UIAH Finland and bachelor of Design in Industrial Design, NCAD Rep. of Ireland. From 1997 to 98, Keaney worked with Finnish furniture designer Ilkka Suppanen producing prototypes and assisting with design work. In 1998, he opens Studio Brian Keaney Helsinki, designing and producing ceramic and glass tableware as well as freelance design work.
In 1999, he founded Tonfisk Design with his partner Tony Alfström.

Cup 8cl, diameter 6cm height 6cm, Plate diameter 12,5cm
The cup's base is designed with a small bump that tilts the cup when placed on a surface. But when placed on the saucer, the cup stands straight. Thus when you have finished your espresso and are waiting impatiently for your companion to arrive you can keep your hands occupied by gently spinning the cup.

'Shake' is a pair of salt and pepper shakers in white stoneware with large cork stoppers. The shakers are not only easy to distinguish from one another but are also easy to refill.

'Warm' is a tea and coffee range that combines ceramic cups and pots with bracelets of laminated bent wood, that help insulate the contents of the objects while acting as their handles.
