Albini studied architecture at the Milan Politecnico. He worked as architect, city planner, industrial designer, designer of interiors and museum installations. In 1930, he joined with the rationalists architects and presented designs for interiors at the Milan Triennale of 1936. From 1945 to 1946, he also edited Casabella, the influential design magazine. Albini worked for major manufacturers like Poggi, Vittorio Bonacina & C., Artflex, Pirelli, Siemens and Fontana Arte and received Compasso d'Oro awards in 1955, 1958 and 1964.
