Following a period of study in the USA, in 1953 Jørgen Kastholm served his apprenticeship as a smith and continued to study at the School of Interior Design. On completing his studies he was employed by Fritz Hansen, later joining the architect's office. Today Kastholm lives in Düsseldorf and on Mallorca and is still an active architect.

The furniture is produced at the same factory and with the same tools used in the 1960s to make the original furniture. The entire production is carried out in close collaboration between Lange Production and Jørgen Kastholm.
