Giada Dammacco graduated in Industrial Design from ISIA Roma, Italy. She is the lead designer of Grado Zero Espace company. She has contributed to different European projects in field of wearable computing and smart textile such Wearit@Work or Spacebra for example. She is in charge of the development of intelligent garment for well being by means of applying space technology. She is focused on how the design can improve the quality of life as well as the human factors related to the new materials and technology applications. Her creations are expression of the tangibility of innovation in Grado Zero Espace research activity.

Space Bra is a wearable vital-functions monitoring system which embraces three sectors, medical area, sports area and fashion area. The idea was to develop an undergarment designed to safeguard health and guarantee comfort. The bra becomes a kind of personal assistant capable of providing information about the present state of health of the person wearing it.
The idea is to imagine different types of users and different use interfaces and take advantage of the conductor and superelastic property of the Shape Memory Alloys to pick up changes in form occurring in certain places when certain diseases break out (medical area), to check heartbeat (sports area) and to change shape of the material to provide more or less support (fashion area).
