Arad studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art from 1971 to 1973 and later at the Architectural Association, London, graduating in 1979. In 1981, he founded the design office-showroom 'One Off' with Peter Keene and Tom Dixon. He is primarily known for his furniture design, using and recuperating existing industrial components. Arad has more recently worked on important architectural projects like the interior of the Tel Aviv Opera House in 1990.
