Founded in 1954

The company Erik Jørgensen A/S was founded in 1954 and the family owned company has ever since produced furniture true to the ideas of the founder.
Today Erik Jørgensen A/S produces a line of upholstered furniture designed by internationally wellknown architects and designers.
In the field of modern and classic furniture for residential purposes their longterm well-established cooperation with architects like e.g. Hans Wegner, Johannes Foersom, Peter Hjorth-Lorentzen and Torben Skov has contributed to their strong position on the market as one of the quality suppliers of sofas, chairs and modular systems with a high utility value and a long durability. Their annual “EJ Design Award”, launched in 1995, ensures that also a new generation of young designers is introduced into the trade when invited to present their daring ideas and visions.

The frame is chrome plated spring steel and the shells are molded plywood with coldcured foam.
H 97 cm - D 82 cm - W 88 cm
The frame of the original model was produced in solid oak in very small numbers. The following year the chair was given the look it has today, with a frame in spring steel and concentric shapes that appear to be freely suspended.
The Corona chair's sculptured form combines aestetic appeal with superb comfort. The concentric shapes on the backrest can also be used as armrests.

90 cm x 90 cm x 90 cm
Because of Hans J. Wegner’s inspiration by Picasso a.o. the design of this sculptural and masculin chair has placed it among the classics in Danish Furniture design.
First produced in 1960 the chair was, however, too advanced for the early 60’s and production was stopped in 1962.
The chair was not produced again until 1985 when Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabrik A/S took up the chair in their collection. The Oxchair has won many prestigious awards and has been exhibited all over the world.
