In his workshop, Ole Jensen became irritated at all the dust and clay that constantly lay about the place. He bent down to sweep the floor, holding a folded newspaper in one hand and sweeping the dust into the newspaper with the other. A simple and straightforward movement that, together with the newspaper implement, created the basic idea for a new kind of dustpan - one that, in the spirit of the dogma films, you might call a hand-held dust blade. The dustpan is in all its simplicity constructed from a piece of flat plastic, with an indentation created by a simple slit. It also has a hole, through which you can push the brush handle to hang the set on the wall.

The dustpan and brush set was awarded the Formland Prize 2003

Boje Estermann was in his kitchen one day in need of a funnel. Boje deliberately had not bought one because funnels take up a lot of space due to the non-flexible form. Nevertheless the funnel is an important part of the daily household and the core problem for Boje was lack of kitchen space combined with an inflexible form. Boje started to think of the possible ways to designing a flexible tunnel when he suddenly thought of his old reflex camera, which had a soft sunscreen, which folded out like an accordion when the sun got too strong. The unique quality of the sunscreen was clearly that it only took up space when in use - this way the seed to the collapsible funnel was sown. Boje met Normann Copenhagen, and in a co-operation with engineers all parties developed this special soft material - flexible enough to fold together, hard enough to keep its shape and durable enough to take the cold, hot as well as the repetition of folding the funnel.

A bowl is no more than a mobile hollow with functional features. An easy task when you think of it. Thinking about the many bowls mankind have already created it would perhaps seem senseless to create a couple more. Especially when they are so simple in design.
To occupy ones mind with the simple things is always a challenge because it creates new experiences from the simplicity. That is of course only when you look for the unique in the simplicity or if you are able to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.
These bowls have been designed with an almost paradox idea in mind: to make the bowls exceptionally simple. To make them "extraordinary" ordinary.
