For the optimal design of the handle different information on the functionality of the basic grips and on the new skiing styles was needed. Several test models were made, and with the scientific tests made at the Jyväskylä University the effect of different handle types were compared to the thrust throughout the whole thrust motions. The support placed under the palm gave the best test results. Based on the selected model, new more ergonomical models were made, which race skiers after repeated tests gave feedback on. The theoretical benefit of design was two minutes on a 50 kilometres ski. From the design of the handle the task encompassed to cover the whole ski pole, which became the company's new flagship product. The cup of the ski pole was to be minimal on surface area and have the maximum grip.
