Founded in 2000

Edizioni Paola C. was founded to offer a youthful yet refined interpretation of tableware. The Strategy of Edizioni Paola C. foresees the creation of collections of objects made of various materials and designed by Italian and foreign artists and designers, with the art direction of Aldo Cibic. The project began with a collection of handmade ceramic pieces and a collection of blown glass objects designed by Aldo Cibic.
In 2001 Edizioni Paola C. invited the collaboration of London's Royal College, with the aim of offering young international designers the opportunity to blend innovation with the functionality of ever-day objects. The 2002 and 2005 project has involved Fabrica, the Benetton Group's international center of communication and research. In the year 2003, the young designers of Tongji University of Shangai have collected the challenge.
As for the previous editions some selected objects have been manufactured and marketed with the Paola C. trademark. The research project will continue in the coming years, involving young talents from all over the world. The aim of Paola C. is to compose collections of simple yet unusual contemporary and functional objects; an "art de la table" which is more than it appears and which pokes fun at convention. This collection will continue with the "free spirit" of the existing designs, that are adaptable in homes of various tastes and lifestyles.
