Articolo is a newly formed manufacturer and retailer of highest quality European-made side tables by exceptional modern designers. Articolo has been founded by president Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, architect AIA and industrial designer. Carl Magnusson, formerly director of design for Knoll International, is the director of design for Articolo. 29 unique side table designs are launched in its first collection with original designs by world renowned designers such as Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Carl Gustav Magnusson, Christoph Bôninger, Gianfranco Frattini, James Irvine, Ross Lovegrove, Marco Romanelli & Marta Laudani and Hans-Jôrg Ruch. All designs are made in Europe to the highest standards of craftsmanship and modern technology in wood, metal, leather and Murano glass to insure lasting qualities.

This piece is a study in contrasting materials which create an inviting side table for various environments. The wood structure carries a leather wrapped metal top which slips onto the legs. The top edges have an elegant inverted pleat gusset. The protective finish of the wood parts leaves the open pore structure of the wood, to retain the most natural appearance and feel. As the leather is unfinished, it has a wonderful natural hand, but it is impregnated with a water repellant finish that makes it resistant to spills that won't penetrate the surface.

The simplest shape and concept are radically transformed by an ingenious treatment of material. The ubiquitous cube becomes a radically new multipurpose object, by removing material and creating new transparency effects. The contrast between the solid volume and the delicate surfaces creates the interest in this versatile side table. Perforated plywood turns into a modern lace. The different finish treatments on the two sides of the panels emphasizes the transparency and the perception of three-dimensional space. The piece is suitable as table, stool and in multiples as a low bookcase. The wood has a protective finish that leaves the open pore structure of the wood to retain the most natural appearance and feel.

A reinterpretation of the classic trestle table, this visually and physically light table is an ideal companion piece for any room and need. Its graciousness fits into contemporary as well as traditional interiors. The overall shape is reminiscent of the graciousness of classical urns, while the shape of the legs is a homage to Gio Ponti's Superleggera chair, of which it captures the iconic physical properties. The wood has a protective finish that leaves the open pore structure of the wood, to retain the most natural appearance and feel.
