André Sornay (1902-2000).

Modernist convertible daybed, structure in stained oak, bordeaux upholstery.

Typical of Sornay's work, the wood panels are hand assembled and held together with series of visible thin nails.
Both backrests slide to reveal an hidden cabinet/bookcase.
The conversion into a bed is made by pulling the mattress tray.

Item in good condition, one missing chip of wood, one stain on cover. Light restoration could be an asset.

France, circa 1935.
