Large spotlight for SBF (Sächsische Bronzewarenfabrik), Wurzen/Saxony, after 1862. Steel housing (powder-coated, black) polished cast aluminium end pieces, bracket chromed. Swivelling mount on cast-iron base with rollers, originally the housing for a slide controller for regulating steam supply to a power plant turbine. Sand-blasted base, brushed, washed. The spotlight features a three meter-long cable and plug. Originally a spotlight (500 watt) used by industry and for nautical purposes. Produced by the former Saxon Bronze Goods Manufactory (Sächsischen Bronzewarenfabrik), Wurzen at Leipzig. The Sächsische Bronzewarenfabrik was founded in 1862 and is one of the oldest industrial operations in Saxony. Dimensions H 155 cm, W 40 cm, D 45 cm. Traces of wear and age.
