Large mural relief by Marcello Morandini (*1940 Mantua)
The segments of simple geometric shape arranged in six rows showing a process of reduction by simultaneous increase of height and spiral rotation in 36 phases.
In spite of the strict mathematical rigor and the monochromacity of the sculpture Morandini created a fascinating and complex surface with smooth transitions and a playful contrast between lighted and shadowy parts.
36 square segments, each 64 x 64 cm, total size 384 x 384 cm.
Aluminium anodized. Minor surface damage.
