Depicting Father Christmas with his handy pocket note book
or perhaps his private stash of Turkish tobacco. The painting has a serene and tranquil air Father Christmas is on his way.
The painting has under gone a light cleaning so as to bring out the vibrancy of the season's theme.
Painted on wood with some wear to boarder and and center of painting.
The rich blue has a swirling technique which is not obvious in this semi matt finish. The swirling was seen during the cleaning.
Measuring; height 143 width 99cm.
Switzerland probably dating early to mid 20th century.
