Bronze sculpture from the series "Opus" by Pierre Nocca.
Nocca created the plaster models for this series in the mid 1950's. Until recently, the actual sculptures have never been produced. Now some of his most emportant works will be cast in bronze in an edition of 8 pieces max each. The artist, who is 96 years old now, will supervise this work and certify every sculpture.
The offered sculpture is the first one finished. Total height incl. granite base: 61 cm.
Pierre Nocca is one of the most interesting French sculptors of the 20th century. Born in 1916 in Sète, south of France, he did his studies in the late 1930's in Paris.
