Jean-Marie Ellenberger (1913-1988), compact bar/sideboard.

Black lacquered steel base, ash. Low side shelf, body shows two doors, opening a cabinet and a bar containing a thick glass shelf.

Very good original condition.

This is a "pièce unique" specifically made for a mountain residence designed by Ellenberger in 1956.

Swiss architect Jean-Marie Ellenberger followed courses with Le Corbusier in 1935. He built in Belgium and Switzerland. In Geneva, he worked on various architectural projects and between 1980-84 among them the Cointrin airport control tower for he was awarded the Interassar architecture prize, followed by the European metal construction prize in 1987.
He passed in 1988 at the peak of his career.
His furniture designs are extremely rare, hence I am proud to present this item, my first Ellenberger piece!
