The Revolt chair was born in 1953 when De Cirkel gave Friso Kramer the assignment to develop an easy to produce chair that could compete with the Gispen chair by Wim Rietveld that was already a big succes at the time.
The name of the chair comes from revolution, because of the whole new concept to manufacture a chair from folded metal
In 1954 the chair was highly appraised at the Triennale in Milan and received a Signe D'Or
Artbrokerdesign is specialised in designs by Friso Kramer, but also other important Dutch modernists can be found e.g. Wim Rietveld, Coen de Vries, Cees Braakman and many more
