‣How long will my listing stay on designradar?
By default, it will be visible during 3 months. But you have the possibility to choose a shorter period, which is interesting for items that are sold in auctions.
One of your items is sold? No problem, you can remove it very easily.
-
‣How to compose an efficient listing?
Each seller has his own concept of an efficient communication. We are placing at your disposal a communication space that will allow you to describe your items freely.
In addition to this large description, we offer you the possibility to associate your items to categories, to designers, to producers, to specific periods, etc...
Some of the information requested in the submission form is optional. However we encourage you to provide as many elements as possible so that your items are easily found by the buyers, whatever search criteria they use.
-
‣How to prepare good images?
For an efficient listing, we advise you to post good quality images. How to proceed if one is not a experienced photographer or a Photoshop pro? It is not so difficult if you follow this advice:
- Place your item in front of a neutral background, not too colorful and with no patterns.
- Lighten up the item as much as you can.
- If possible, use a tripod for your camera to ensure the sharpness of your image.
You would like to reframe or resize your image? Or correct the brightness and the contrast in only one click? It's easy! Go visit Picnik, you will see that with the help of this website (free service), transforming images is child's play.

‣What kind of items are appropriate?
To ensure a pleasant experience for our users, we select the items that are submitted on designradar. It is also a way to guarantee the dealers that their items are shown in a favorable context. Our selection criteria are not based on the commercial value of the items, but on the qualitative criteria that have always prevailed on DesignAddict.
Also, DesignRadar is a service offered by DesignAddict.com and not by DecorativeItems.com; consequently, we prefer creations of XXth Century designers that are part of the broad history of industrial design.
Since 1998 we have become familiar with our visitors' main interests, and our selection criteria comes thus partly from those. We reserve the right not to show an item if it does not meet these criteria. This choice of a curated inventory is also in the interest of the dealer because we prefer to withdraw an item that does not correspond to the expectations of the buyers who visit DesignRadar rather than to let the dealers list in vain unsuited items.
What we don’t accept on DesignRadar:
For the moment, DesignRadar is reserved to the sale of vintage design. We don't accept contemporary creations or recent reproductions of design classics. The period covered by the Design Radar is from 1910 to 1989 but we might accept more recent items, individually, according to their rarity and their interest as a collectors' item.
-
-We don't accept copies, knock-off or unlicensed reproductions of design classics.
-
-We don't accept decorative items* (even of very high quality) unrelated to modern or post-modern design.
-
-
*Exceptions: Some modern jewelry, art work or wall accents are welcome.

NO YES
-
-
-We don't accept items that are presented, intentionally or not, in an inaccurate way.
-
-We don't accept items with poor quality images.
-
-We don't accept items listed by a seller who does not seem to offer serious guarantees necessary to the accomplishment of a smooth transaction with the buyer.
Of course, the listing of an item that is not showcased on DesignRadar because of one of these reasons will not have to be paid for by the seller. The payment process is activated only after validation of the listing!
